About Us

Established in 2005 by his daughter, Alison Botsford, and his family; the “Hal Botsford Gift of Wings Fund” is a living memorial to Harold E. Botsford, Jr.

Hal was an avid aviator and an amazingly inspiring person. Among his many accomplishments; Hal was a flight instructor for 5 decades, climbed to the top of Mt. Rainier and the Matterhorn, participated in triathlons through age 75, and flew in over 125 countries! As a pilot Hal flew from April 16, 1942 consistently until lifting off into the air for the last time on February 27, 2005.

This fund was created as a lasting legacy to a man who touched many lives in an extraordinarily positive and productive way. Through this educational grant, Hal continues to inspire and assist others by helping them to experience the wonder, freedom, and exhilarating joy of flight!
